If you know me, you know that I am all about TRADITIONS. I just love traditions.

Let me describe a certain situation for you:

Back in 2007, my family and I were invited to spend a nice evening at the temple lights with a family in the ward. We were suppose to meet this family there. This family did not show. We drove home after visiting the temple and as we turned the corner, we did not even recognize our house. A saw HUGE star on the top of our roof. The most tacky decorations you can imagine were plastered across our yard. A sign on our garage door said, "Merry Christmas from us to you!" We were shocked. What happened to our yard? Unbeknownst to us, it was all a set up. We were suppose to get out of our house, so that a few fun families in the ward could sabotage our house. The family that was suppose to meet us at the temple purposely stood us up to pull this prank.

The tradition of the Christmas Service Project began that night and to this day it still lives on and the decorations get worse and worse every year.

This particular year in 2009 (pictured below) takes the trophy. (sorry Cami!)

I don't see why people don't hire us every season to do their lights!

There are three rules in being the victim of this innocent prank:

1 :: You must leave the decorations up until the Christmas season is completely over.
2 :: You must store the decorations for the whole year until next Christmas.
3 :: Next year you can be apart of this fun tradition. The number of people doing this Service Project grows and grows each year.

My most favorite decoration is the Santa in the hammock, oh and of course the 12 ft star. Hilarious.

James and I stayed and hid behind a bush to catch all the action when the family came home. Their reactions were priceless. It was so fun. What a fun tradition!
