match-made-in-heaven.

The reason my family spent a few days in California was to celebrate an anniversary.
My parent's 21st anniversary, that is.

Twenty-one years ago, on a blistering hot June day, my parents were married for time and for all eternity. Even though I wasn't alive at the time, I am very familiar with this day.

My dad was looking sharp in his tux and black bow tie,
and my mom looking beautiful in her poofy, white wedding dress. Those sleeves are as big as my head!

On this beautiful wedding day, my parents were madly in love.

And to this day, twenty-one years later, they are even more madly in love. I was talking to a friend the other day and she described my parents as a "match made in heaven." I fully agree with that statement. I have not once seen my parents argue. Not once!

I always remember the days, which is everyday, when dad comes home from work and embraces mom with a big hug, mushy kiss, an i love you, a smell of the neck, and usually a pinch of the tush while she was making dinner or washing dishes. As a child, I use to find that unpleasantly disgusting to see this kind of affection, especially from my own parents, but now when I see this, I just smile and I think to myself how grateful I am to have such "match-made-in-heaven" parents.

They go on a date every Saturday, they still write love notes to one another, they laugh a lot, they serve together a lot, my dad still asks us if we know how much he loves our mother, my mom serves dad so willingly, they still hold hands in the car, and they still are as happy as newlyweds.

21 years down...eternity to go!

Oh My word!!! You made me cry. That is a beautiful anniversary letter. It was a beautiful day, June 20th, 1990. The first BEST day of my life. I am completely happy with Dad and my family. The gospel is true...we will be together forever! We just need to stay close to each other and make sure we are all there together. I love you! Thanks for sharing your feelings!
