Something strange and unfamiliar happened in Arizona this weekend. This weekend, we were blessed with beautiful weather: a crisp, light wind and the perfect amount of sunlight. It was a breath of fresh air. Never in the history of Memorial Days do I remember feeling so cool.
Although the cool weather was wonderful for driving with the windows unrolled, it was not the ideal lake weather. On Saturday when we went to the lake with family and friends, it was very much a shock that the water was actually a bit chilly. Needless to say, I'm a whimp when it comes to cold, so Jessie & I decided to stick it out a few more weeks until the water gets above 85 degrees. The boys on the other hand didn't even bat an eye at the thought of missing out on a wakeboarding/tubing experience.
Jessie and I enjoyed staying warm underneath our only dry towell laughing at the boys while they got taken out by the tube. Dad enjoyed driving the boat, as usual. Mom had a good time taking pictures, especially of her very muscular 15 year old son. The little girls soaked in the freedom of sitting at the nose of the boat. The four boys not only took pleasure in tubing and wakeboarding, but in eating the 28 ham sandwiches mom & I made, a pan full of homemade rice krispy treats, a whole bag of pretzels, and a big packet of Chips Ahoy cookies. woof. Where does it all go? I ask myself that question daily.
Thank you to all those who are serving or have served our country so willingly. Because of you, we are able to have the freedoms that we enjoy. I am so thankful.
