-I went to Emily's singles ward on Sunday. We never seem to fail at surrounding ourselves with mushy gushy couples. Even when we try to avoid sitting behind them, somehow they always find their way in front of us. Well, on this particular Sunday, sure enough a boy and a girl sat in the row in front of us. They began cooing at each other & putting their faces together cheek to cheek. She rubbed his back and by the expression on his face, he looked like he enjoyed every moment of it. I felt so distracted by this PDA that I had to point it out to Emily. She checks out the scene and then turns to me and says, "They are brother and sister!" My jaw dropped and then we both couldn't stop laughing, in sacrament meeting mind you. It was the kind of laugh where you try to not make any sound and tears just flow out of your eyes. Everything is a lot funnier when you're not suppose to be laughing.
-Walking into a new singles ward, by yourself, not knowing anyone, and feeling like "fresh meat."
-I got a job (hurrah!) at as a front desk person at a dental office. The dental office I work out definitely caters to older people from the ages 60-90. One of my job responsibilities is to call people and invite them in for a cleaning. All day I call people up, and nobody wants to get their teeth clean. They reject my offer over and over again. On one particular phone call, I spoke to this older lady. She explains that she won't be able to make it in for awhile because she is sick in bed. Since she was 90 years old, I probably called her on her death bed. Awk.
