Peace Out Men!

Let's be honest. I haven't been the most social girl out there these past 5 months.

Why, you might ask? Because I am 100% determined to go on my mission. I do not want to be one of those girls that gets their mission call, but then decides to get engaged instead. I'm committed to my mission, and I'm also done with the dating scene for now. I don't want to have attachments at home that would make it hard to leave and, lets face it, I'm done going on pity dates with guys that I'm not even interested in...

You get my drift?

Well, this past month I've been a bit more social, and have started to go to Y.S.A. (young single adult) activities with some friends. The guys there are nice, but seem very aware that a lot of good, pretty, A+ girls are leaving on their missions. They seem very aggressive even though they know that I'm out of here very soon! To make a long story short, my facebook inbox and my cell phone have been full of messages and texts from these so called R.M.s, even though I told them that I am not interested in dating right now. For Pete's sake, I have THREE weeks left before I leave!

This video is dedicated to all those special boys who just can't take the hint. Watch and enjoy ::

Peace out sweet boys---I'm going on a MISSION!

See you in 18 months...

Fifty

50 days.
50 days until I enter the Argentina MTC.
50 days until I am emerged in a different culture.
50 days until I wear a badge everyday saying Hermana Coon.
50days until I begin my new life as a missionary for
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
50days exactly and I can't wait!

Uruguay, here I come! I'm ready to work!

Mondays are good days

It's 12:08am and I can't sleep. Nights like these are happening more often.

I don't know why.

Maybe it's because my mind is racing with a million different thoughts: my mission, school, what I'm going to eat for breakfast, things like that.
Or maybe I can't sleep because I got a sweet email from Elder Boyd earlier today...
Ya, that's probably why!

Mondays have become such well anticipated days for me. It has been so fun for me to get weekly, personalized emails just for me from my best friend who is serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nicaragua! It's so fun to hear about Grant's successes and to see his testimony grow and grow and grow! He's such an awesome, 'on fire,' missionary who is changing many lives!

AND, what's so cool is that in a couple of months our lives will be very similar again...We'll both be in South America (Grant in Nicaragua, me in Uruguay) preaching this wonderful gospel to those who are searching for the truth. I can't wait! The church is true, oh so true!

(Don't these pictures make you smile?)

I'm smiling.

Temple :: my happy place

Thursday was a very special day for me.
On Thursday, I reached my goal of getting to the temple.
I did it.

The temple was everything I imagined--and MORE!
I have never been in a more beautiful place.
The world is so busy, but inside the temple, I felt so warm and peaceful.
I felt the indescribable love that Heavenly Father has for his children.

I can't wait to go back.

I am just so happy.

The gospel is wonderful.

Life is so good and we are so blessed.

I hope they call me on a MISSION!!!

I'm going on a MISSION to.....
***watch video to find out***

***drum roll please***

URUGUAY, MONTEVIDEO mission,
SPANISH SPEAKING!!!
I report to the Argentina MTC
on July 4th, 2013!!!

I cannot explain in words how excited I am.
I know that this is where I'm suppose to serve for 18 months of my life.
I already love the people of Uruguay and I don't even know them yet!

During my free time, I research Uruguay. I have found out that:

--Uruguayans are European, so about 80% of them have blonde hair and white skin.

--Even though it's in South America, they don't serve rice and beans, but a lot of meat and empenadas.
--They have a beautiful temple.

--Uruguay LOVES soccer.
--Their seasons are opposite of ours, so when I leave in the middle of summer here,
it will be middle of winter there!

I have until now and July 4th to prepare as much as I can and to lose my Gringo accent...
Ready, set, GO!
