Graduation Day

Today is a BIG day! It's the day I've been waiting for for a long time. Today is GRADUATION! :) There are so many emotions running through me right now: happy, nervous, and excited. Highschool has been soooo good to me. I love highschool! Over the past four years, I have made so many fun memories and created lasting friendships. I have grown and I have achieved so many of my goals. I will forever remember highschool as being the best four years of my life so far. Graduating highschool is so bittersweet. Although I am sad to graduate, I am also so excited to have so many new doors open up to me. I am excited for what the future will bring. At 7pm tonight, I will be a new person...a graduated 17 year old.

Goodbye Higley Highschool....

Hello BYU-I!

Prom(s)

I have become a terrible blogger. Life has been so crazy. Between graduation stuff, end of the year PROJECTS, work, and other preparations, I have been able to take a few breathers.

PROM was a few weeks ago and I spent the fabulous night with Landon Smith, the most entertaining kid you will ever meet. He was such a gentleman too. I'm pretty sure I didn't touch the car door/door handle once the whole night. We spent the night at the zoo dancing the night away in our "mormon circle." We had a fantastic time together.

The next weekend, May 7th was Mormon Prom, and it was probably the most fun dance during my high school career. There's nothing like being surrounded with people with your same standards. Modest dresses, clean dancing, and good music. Grant was also a gentleman and even took a chance to held my hand... :) Grant and I had a blast together and I was so thankful that I was able to spend my last dance with my best friend.

Thank you tennis!

Oh, the joys of playing tennis. everyday. in the hot sun. i knew what i was getting myself into before the season began, but i didn't think it would be this bad! it's actually pretty funny to hear people's reactions to these odd tan lines. "What the heck is that?" or "How did you get so tan?" or "Does your prom dress cover that?" i mean...look at my back...it looks like i have on another shirt. goodness!

man, i must love tennis.

Prom Season

Prom season is here once again. It's always a stressful time of year, but in the end, everything always works out! In 2 days, I had 2 different surprises.

The first happened the afternoon we returned back from California. The doorbell rang. Annie and I ran to the door to find this. Ritz crackers making a pathway. I followed the path and found part of the poem. Grant asked me Mormon Prom! woot woot! So excited! :) The theme is "Putting on the Ritz."

Grant knows me all to well. He gave me York mint patties.

Then today I walked into seminary and found this on my desk. I was a bit shocked. I was least expecting to be asked to school prom. But, holy cow, I am so excited! Landon Smith is the bomb!

Now all I need is a dress. Mmm...my life is complete bliss.

Awesome Tuesday

Tuesday was a fabulous day. You know those days when everything seems to be going right and it seems like life can't get any better!? Tuesday was that day. Why was Tuesday such a fantastic day?
  • LATE START
  • Early morning jog
  • CAR WASH with Mr. Grant Boyd, my fav.
  • English 101, Choir, and Math
  • No homework
  • Won my doubles tennis match...finally! :)
  • Clean car...until it rained the next day.
It always cracks me up. I think I have a car wash curse. Whenever I wash my cute PT Cruiser, it ALWAYS rains the next day!!! Everytime. What are the chances? When does it ever rain in Arizona? I think I should learn to check the weather reports before I wash my baby.

I {heart} Double Dates

Double dates are my favorite!

Remember post this post?

I had the amazing opportunity to go on a date with BOTH of these boys last weekend which was the highlight of my week.

Friday night was with my boy Preston. It was a double with his fun red head brother and his date, Kaitlin. We made a homemade pizza, ate homemade icecream, and played games. It was such a simple date, but so much fun!
On Saturday night, Grant and I went on a double with my parents! We had a great time playing tennis. Go team sweatbands. It got a little competitive, but nonetheless, it was memorable. Grant did a such a great job considering it was his first time playing tennis! Languages of love, games, and dancing in my kitchen made my night. :)

Love these kind of weekends!

Senioritis

Uh-oh. I've been diagnosed with a crippling disease. SENIORITIS.

noun. A crippling disease that strikes high school seniors. Symptoms include: laziness, an over-excessive wearing of sweatpants, old athletic shirts, athletic shorts, and sweatshirts. Also features a lack of studying and a generally dismissive attitude. There are many different causes of the disease, but it can often be contagious between close friends.

The only known cure is a phenomenon known as Graduation.

I would say that I am an ambitious person. I set goals and try my best to accomplish them. I get good grades. I study for tests. But....this last semester of senior year is killing me! I wake up late everyone morning because I press snooze too much, I throw my hair up in a bun, I love sweatpants, and I have no desire to do my homework...but I do it anyways.

Now that I know where I'm going for college ( BYU-I :) I can't help but daydream about it in class. Just keep chuggin' along Katie. You can do it! (do you like how I try to motivate myself?)

Cowboy Take Me Away

BEWARE: Dallin is 6'5" and I am 5'3"

Higley's first ever Sadie Hawkins was so much fun! Dallin Greer was such a big teddybear and the whole group was a blast. The night consisted of lots of cowboys and cowgirls, chasing down Emily and Alyssa's dates, eating dinner at Emily Halls' house, Costa Vida mmmm..., pictures taken around the farm by mom, playing "Do You Love Your Neighbor," Emily "breaking" her arm, car rides in the PT, the longest gun show possible, and Toy Story 3!
